Tough match. Tough conditions, rock hard pitch, uncompromising opposition, a ball that would bounce about 10 feet in the air and dust being kicked up every time the players moved.
Given all that, it was never going to be a classic, and so it proved.
Once again, going behind seemed to get the team going, and we showed that we have the ability to carve teams open when we want to.
I think Sim needs to play alongside Salts, as his running off the ball into space is so hard to pick up. I'd play Deano at wide right midfield (if fit) and keep Sim up front as this S&S partnership keeps producing results.
This title race is going to go down to the wire, and may well be decided on goal difference at the end of the day. Having said that, we have the worst goal difference of the 3 teams in the race, but not by much, and with two matches against Torrington and one against Keynsham to come, the number of goals will be important.
I know that presumes a lot .... but you know what I mean.
How was your tea on Friday night, "Bob"? Rumour has it it may have been a little burnt? |
