All of the first teams games have now been arranged and confirmed and I think we've managed to get some interesting matches sorted. Our annual trip to Cadbury Heath sets things underway in less than a months time! We then entertain Southern League Premier Division side Gloucester City before an away fixture against Wessex League Division one side Laverstock & Ford. Trowbridge Town are our visitors in the Harry Adams Memorial Cup and then Wessex League Premier Division side Christchuch play at Badgers Hill. Our final wam-up game see's us making the trip so face Southern League Division One side Taunton Town (where I can confirm the pitch is looking really good after being there for a meeting last night!). Unfortunately we were let down with a couple of bigger home games against much higher opposition but we will continue to work on that in readiness for the following year!!
The FA Cup (we have been accepted and confirmed by the FA as returning to the competition this season!) and FA Vase draws are released early next week and the Western League fixtures will follow shortly.
Details on player's staying at The Hill for the new season will be announced soon as will possibly new faces (which there will be some!). I'm not going to give any info away on our targets you will just have to speculate and play the guessing game!!
Pre-season training starts on Tuesday evening at 7.00pm with and we are happy to welcome anybody who wants to give it as try in playing Western or County league standard.
Longwell Green 6's tournament (winners for the past two seasons!) is this Sunday!
The ground spruce up continues this Saturday from 1.00pm and hopefully with good weather and several helping hands we can really make The Hill look better than ever.
The fence is due to start next week (probably!) and hopefully the covered area by the Office will be started at the same time (thanks to Paul Mc). _________________ "COME ON YOU REDS!" |
