Collectively a poor performance from Frome Town today. I thought that the 2 forwards worked hard, with limited service, as did the big Cheese at the back. Shortwood were seemingly better organised than Frome Town and played to their strengths well, even if they weren't that good a team. In my opinion Frome's midfield had an off day, contributing very little throughout the afternoon. The left hand side of the team also struggled to make any worthwhile contribution. With football, you only get out what you put in and I cant help but feel that some of the Frome players could have offered more than they did today. A few more could do with the attitude of Deano upfront.
It certainly gives the opposition a boost when they hear the other team arguing with one another. My first time watching Frome this season, so good luck next week. I am off assessing a Ref somewhere so won't be at the next game. I will now put on my hard hat and take cover.

Good postings from John H. and Asa. Their equaliser came when Fey called for the ball and got nowhere near it, their second another defensive mix-up. Frome lacked appetite for this game. Salter has been totally ineffective all season, six competitive games and NO goals from open play, biggest worry is the lack of any alternative Sad

I agree about the earlier postings, but have to disagree with "Fool On The Hill" in as much as Salts can only score from open play if he gets service from other team members which he hasn't so far.

As Asa says we need to improve things soon or we won't have much of a season left. What is worrying is that I don't think things have worked well since the Hallen game late last season when we were still in with a chance of the title and yet approached that game and most that followed with little appetite or ideas.

Fingers crossed that we can find some really good form soon.

we know the ability is there, seems like the attitudes that need sorting out in a few cases.

Yeah that sounds about right Gary, no doubt theres some players there with bags of potential and ability, but for some reason we are not getting the best out of them and there not performing to there level, but why???

Is the team too young? Do we need one or two thirtysomethings to add to the mix? At the moment, when things are not going to plan, there is no-one out there with a wise head to turn things around.

Maybe we do.

I also expect to hear more shouting from our captain which to be honest never happens, and you dont hear much from him, think you need someone out there to keep the players on there toes and to `get them going` when there not playing well.

Looking at the team yesterday i dont know who this could be though, think you need a Thorpey type player to really grit his teeth and want it as yesterday pure and simply yet again we didnt want it enough

Hi Frome Fans

I would just like to add some comments from a players point of view.
We know we have been under acheiving with our performances, but we have only lost one league game and still have 30 plus games to play, and a cup game which we know was important for the club financially. However, we still have the FA Vase, League Cup and The League to play for.

All the players are working hard at training to improve our chances of success, but as you should all know, in a game of football anything can happen.

In response to the comment regarding JC, he is a great captain. He may not be the loudest on the pitch, but he expresses his opinions to each player, its just that you may not hear or see him do it.

So, keep supporting us and watch us turn this little blip around so we can stop hearing these negative comments which are going around the club

Cheers everyone

Maggot

Yes maggot i agree..... we have lost two games in 9 or 10, its not bad considering the way we've been playing. If anyone read the sun today Alex Ferguson calls that championship form (play bad and still pick up points)

We are out the FA cup but we still have the league and Vase... things will get better very soon and we will start playin the way we should be. Every team has a bad patch and this is ours, id rather have it now then at christmas or end of the season.

As for the JC comment he is a wicked captain and leads by example rather then bollock everyone. He constantly encourages players when they are playin badly and voices his opinion well in the changing room.
How many games have Frome lost under him? not many i bet.

At the risk of being boo'ed next week i just wana say on behalf of myself and the players thanx to all the fans who actually support us and to the fans who just turn up to throw as many negative comments at us as possible.... dont bother commin next home game!

There's a reason fans are also known as supporters cus thats what their ment to do SUPPORT the team they follow.... not slate it!

Thanx.

Deano and Maggot,

The postings on here are from people that i can guarentee will be around at the end of the season to hopefully see us win something, we will still be supporting you guys win or lose, just because our opinions have been voiced doesnt mean we support Frome any less.

The thing that let people i spoke to down is both the matches we lost is the hunger to win, Corsham and Shortwood were both beatable but pure and simply on the pitch it seemed like they wanted it more.

The other thing is that in both matches it wasnt even a few players playing bad and you can compensate, it was everyone, how can you compensate for everyone having an off game in the same match?

As for JC obviously you know him better than me it just seemed as if Saturday you did need someone to shout at you all because i think if we would have equalised we could have gone on and got a winner.

Deano, whatever level your at from the premiership (look at Chelseas message board after yesterday!!!) down to our level and beyond your going to get negative comments but if these people didnt turn up like you say they shouldnt players wouldnt get paid.

My advice is the best thing to do is show them on the pitch what we know you can all do, we are Frome town and people should fear us!!!

Cheers guys for taking the time to post, were all in this together.

Ps....
Get on the training pitch and stop posting!!!!

Can't agree more Asa

I think we both and the team realise that after the two bad performances we displayed we would get negative comments back and we agree with most of them ,but thats gone now and we need to re-group and get back to the way this club should be, as a unit with players and all to do with Frown Town as one

Cheers Mate

Maggot

(i would beat Deano in a "keepy uppy" contest hands down) Very Happy

Yeah as you said were all as one, end of the day we all want the same, for Frome town to be succesful.

Come Saturday all will be normal again and we shall have our usual support at Chard cheering you on and hopefully playing football like we know we can, it wont be easy on the `slope` of a pitch though!!!

I think Basher would beat Deano aswell!!!!

Good to hear things from the players perspective - as already stated we all want the team to be successful and there will always be criticism - if you won 3-0 it should have been 5.

I think expectations were very high after last year, and with a few new signings - just don't want to see Frome having to play too much of a "catch-up".

I can't believe I'm going to say this but well said Deano (did I really agree with him? Oh my god!).. oh and you Maggot as well of course!

Somebody better watch out because when we 'click' we are going to really hammer a team. As a Committee we certainly aren't panicing and know we have the management and the players to challenge and as for the question mark over JC as captain, I don't think you would find a better one - you don't need to shout to be an effective leader - respect is what counts! God I can't stand being so nice - and especially as none of the gits ever buy Gav or me a pint... sod the lot of you... you can all leave Laughing

Oh and out of interest (putting my Statto head on now!) we are currently something like 5 points better off than last season with the teams we have played!
