I see Maggot and Deano were on the bench AGAIN, theyve got to be starting soon surely, perfect oppurtunity against Bitton on Saturday perhaps??
In the Brislington and Bideford matches i watched there is an instant difference when they come on as it injects a bit of pace, and reading the Dawlish report that seems to suggest the same happened there.
With teams around us having games in hand we cant afford to start dropping silly points, tough few games lately but weve only got 2 points out of a possible 9 which aint really good enough.
This is our testing year now i think as the players have been together long enough now so we can really see if this team is good enough and want it enough to take us further as there can be no excuses this year like previous years as everything has settled in place!!! _________________ Frome town till i die!!! |

The matches certainly don't seem to get any easier at the moment.
Bitton on Saturday (looking for revenge in more ways than one), Chard the following Saturday (always well organised) and Welton away on the Tuesday (the Leagues' best defence at the moment having conceded just 9 goals from 15 matches and they won at Bideford on Saturday).
Unless something dramatic happens with Truro, though I hate to admit, it's starting to look like the predicted will happen, and the rest of us will be fighting for runners up spot this year. I know that sounds a bit defeatist, and I hope I'm wrong (please), but their record is starting to look a bit ominous.
It seems like the team has hit a bit of a barren patch scoring goals at the moment, which after the big wins against Chard, Corsham and Barnstaple seems a little strange. The chances are coming, but not going in at the moment.
I was surprised to see that our top goal scorer at the moment (not including penalties) is Jamie Cheeseman, which makes me wonder how he would play as an attacking midfielder, playing just behind Salts, with Matt Cowler slotting in alongside JC at centre back? He certainly shakes things up when he's thrown up front when we're chasing a game. I sometimes think that his fitness level, physical presence, undoubted ball skills and heading ability would make him a pretty dangerous opponent in that area, and might take some of the physical attention off Salts allowing him a bit more freedom.
Toby Colbourne is going to take a while to repair and recover match fitness, and I get the impression that Salts needs a bit of help at the sharp end at the moment. But then again, maybe not. |

No offence to the other teams but were Frome town and dont think we should worry about playing the likes of Bitton, Chard or Welton.
Bitton as we showed when we played them away were nothing special so are defenatley beatable when we play it on the ground, Chard have had some absloute drubbings lately so there should be no excuses there and yeah Welton have improved but local derby we shouldnt be fearing them either.
These are the games we need to be looking at taking 9 points from to at least keep up there in second place if nothing else. _________________ Frome town till i die!!! |
